CROSS COUNTRY
Starting on a quite springish morning the really keen runners gathered outside Chillington Hall. With about 50 runners in total, Mr Gifford dropped the flag to see an onslaught of runners sprinting into position, with about 4 miles to run. The arm chair supporters waited on the finishing line for, maybe, a new course record but as the clock ticked past the course record we new it was not to be.
All supporters and runners........enjoyed the day with the ever strong team of Penkridge being outright winners. They were followed by Brewood, Wombourne, Seisdon and Trysull. Bilbrook came in in 5th place with a great team performance from Phil Dutton 9th, Alan Charters 24th, Tim Davies 27th and Collette Starzak a very highly deserved 2nd place in the ladies.
Well done to the Bilbrook team
DOMINOES
With only 5 teams turning up this was still to be a 'Battle of the parishes'
With the ever enthusiastic Don Thompson starting the games at the 'Coach and Horses' this was sure to be a battle of the giants (WHEATON ASTON AND BILBROOK). As the rounds gathered momentum teams could not be split, but as the games went down to the final wire Wheaton Aston came out eventual winners against the gallant BILBROOK team of John Bickley, Alan Rogers and Dave Steadman who finished runners up. Well done lads!
Other placings Brewood and Penkridge joint 3rd with Kinver a very respectable 5th
