The New Village Sign

This is the new Bilbrook village sign post erected on the village green in March 2003. The Defiant, which unfortunately looks as if it is crashing, is a reference to the Boulton and Paul aircraft works that made the aircraft during World War 2. Boulton and Paul moved to the outskirts of the village in the 1930s, bringing with it a large number of the original Norwich work force. It was this move that prompted the expansion of the village at that time.
